Reputation Matters
It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.
~
Warren Buffett
It's very likely that you will have read this quote before. It is still just as relevant today as when Warren Buffett first uttered those words some years ago.
From your personal reputation to a business or government leaders reputation, through to an organisation wide reputation, it is vital that reputations are managed, protected, safeguarded and at times hard fought for.
At the very least, without a good reputation, you don't have trust with your consumer, citizen, employee, or stakeholder to authentically play an active role in selling a message, product or convincing people of the way forward. If you have a bad reputation, why should I believe, trust, work for or even listen to you in the first place?
Reputation matters. Reputation is the connective tissue of trust between you and your audience; reputation makes me stop and listen; it gives you a hand in the game.
In my previous life, working in Government, reputations made the difference to people being open and interested in listening to what you had to say, let alone what you then actually did say, whether it was authentic and how it resonated with them, and then responding positively to the call for action.
At Manara Global, we believe good reputations are a journey, a path plotting the way forward between you, your organisation, and the audience consuming your message. Establish trust, build out a bridge to your audience and your reputation will increasingly evolve.
In a world which is ever more connected, containing sometimes complex ecosystems, there is an expectation that businesses and their leaders should take a stand on an issue that matters to society, and the communities surrounding them. Therefore, it is essential to put into place measures to define, craft and enhance your reputational story.
At Manara Global, we passionately believe that reputation matters, it impacts and drives human decisions and behaviours every day. Reputation is also not something you can buy off the shelf, open the tin and bingo there you go. It is about living and breathing your story, rather than simple words said without meaning or value.
We believe the best reputation management combines the power of convergent and creative thinking with ideas, which is why we take pride in how we think, create, inspire, originate, and ultimately solve problems and challenges. We care about our clients' reputation in the same way as our very own.
So, as Warren Buffett says, let's do things differently, let's build and evolve our reputations and be better, stronger and more connected to our audiences for it.
